Darryl Greene, MBA, CPA

Darryl Greene is an NBPA certified player agent and offers contract negotiation and marketing services to clients. He is a certified public accountant with bachelor’s degrees in marketing and accounting along with an MBA in management. Darryl is a master tax advisor and licensed insurance agent offering life, casualty, and property insurance products. With more than a decade of experience as a college professor, he educates his clients on financial and business-related issues. 

 

​Darryl has years of experience in the professional basketball industry serving in multiple capacities. He became certified by the NBPA in 1999 and his first client signed with the LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors in 2002. Darryl has negotiated contracts in numerous international markets including Italy, France, Poland, South Korea, Finland, Australia, South America and Saudi Arabia. In 2005, he became the owner of the Detroit Pros of the International Basketball League and served as the assistant coach with the Minot Skyrockets of the Continental Basketball Association in 2006-07. From 2013 to 2015, Darryl served as the director of player personnel for the back-to-back NBL Canada Champions, the Windsor Express before launching the National Basketball League of America in 2015.

As a player, Darryl has experience on the high school, college, and professional levels. He attended Inkster High School in Inkster, Michigan where he played football and basketball. At Inkster, Darryl led the team in assists, was named to several all-area and all-conference teams, and won conference and district championships. The Vikings were a powerhouse program during his time at Inkster, losing only one home game from 1984-1987. After high school, Darryl accepted a full athletic scholarship to NJCAA nationally ranked Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas. While at Cloud, he led the team in assists and won a district title during the 1988-89 season. Darryl received interest from several mid-major NCAA division I programs and after graduating from Cloud, signed with NCAA II Clarion University. At Clarion, Darryl was coached by former Iowa Hawkeyes and 1988 USA Olympic assistant coach, Ron Righter. While at Clarion, he tied Jon Calipari's single game assists record with 12 assist and averaged 5.9 assists per game which is currently ranked 7th all-time in program history. After one season at Clarion, Darryl transferred to Moorhead State University where he played for Dave Schellhase, the first ever draft pick of the Chicago Bulls. He led the Dragons in assists and set the single game assist record with 12 assists and the single season assists record with 163 assists, a record that was held from 1993 to 2014. Following his collegiate career, Darryl signed with the Fargo-Moorhead Fever of the Continental Basketball Association and participated in the NBA and free agent divisions of the California Summer Pro League.
